The Edexcel BTEC Level 3 Certificate is a 30-credit and 180-guided-learning-hour (GLH) qualification that consists of two mandatory modules plus an optional module that provides for a combined total of 30 credits.

Each applicant’s potential will be considered on individual bases in order to make a professional judgement about their ability to successfully complete the programme of study and achieve the qualification.
For learners who have recently been in education, the entry profile is likely to include one of the following:
- A BTEC or related qualification at Level 2
- Relevant work experience
- A general level of education equivalent to at least four A+- to C-grade GCSEs.
- In addition, students will be required to attend an interview.
Students who do not have formal level 2 qualification or more mature learners may have a more varied learning profile, which is likely to include either paid or unpaid employment.
IELTS 4.5, with a minimum of 4.5 being awarded on individual sections (or equivalent) for all applicants whose first language is not English.
You will be assessed through written assignments and coursework.

Successful completion of this Edexcel BTEC Level 3 Certificate in IT course allows students to gain direct entry to Pearson BTEC Level 4 HNC Diploma in Computing and Systems Development (QCF) course at LSST, or to BTEC Level 5 HND Diploma in Computing and Systems Development (QCF) course at LSST, entry point – year 1.
