A dynamic event specifically tailored for LSST students seeking guidance and opportunities to shape their future careers was hosted at LSST’s Elephant and Castle Campus by the National Careers Service. This workshop aimed to empower students with the essential skills and knowledge required to thrive in the professional world. With the ever-increasing competitiveness of today's job market, it has never been more critical to prepare students with the right tools and insights to succeed. Successful professionals from the National Career Service shared their experiences, offered valuable advice, and provided valuable resources to help LSST students make informed career decisions. National Career Services workshops were a steppingstone towards unlocking students' full potential and securing a bright future in their chosen field.
National Careers Services workshops presented opportunities for students to connect with career advisors and get personalized guidance and support. NCS (National Career Service) allows job seekers to search for employment opportunities across various sectors and locations aound London, England. They offer career counseling services to LSST students seeking guidance and support in making informed career decisions. Workshops cover CV writing, which includes how to highlight accomplishments, use appropriate keywords, and present information in a clear and concise manner. The workshop provided tips on how to address employment gaps, emphasise relevant skills, and highlight achievements to make the CV stand out to potential employers. The workshops also covered a wide range of topics and strategies to optimise LinkedIn profiles and utilise the platform effectively. The workshop focused on how to explore the importance of building a strong network, connecting with industry professionals, and engaging in meaningful conversations through posts and comments. LSST students who attended the workshop received one-on-one consultations, career assessments, and gained insights into local job markets and employment trends.
