LSST Appoints James Platt as Careers and Employability Manager

LSST is delighted to announce the appointment of James Platt as the new Careers and Employability Manager, following a rigorous recruitment process that attracted a pool of highly qualified candidates, both internally and externally. 

 

Mr Ali Jafar Zaidi, LSST’s Deputy CEO, affirmed: ‘At LSST, student employability stands as the cornerstone of our educational ethos, and James’s wealth of experience and industry connections will undoubtedly fortify our unwavering dedication to nurturing student career development and success.’ 

Charlie Tennant, LSST’s Vice Principal, emphasised: ‘Student employability is a collective endeavour at LSST, one that leverages the wealth of everyone’s experience and expertise within our community. James brings an abundance of experience to the table, having served as a Careers Officer at LSST Birmingham since November 2023. Throughout his tenure, he has demonstrated a remarkable ability to forge strong employer networks across the West Midlands, while spearheading numerous impactful employability and career-focused initiatives.’ 

Speaking about his employment, James added: ‘I am truly honoured to have been appointed as the Careers and Employability Manager. I am excited to continue supporting our students in their professional development and leveraging my experience to cultivate stronger employer networks. I am totally committed to empowering all LSST students to thrive in their chosen careers and make a positive impact in the world.’ 

Before his tenure at LSST, James held pivotal leadership roles within the skills and employment domain, including a prominent position as a Learner Engagement and Placement Manager, where his focus on Adult Education and Skills Bootcamps has been instrumental. 

In light of this appointment, everyone at LSST extends their warmest congratulations to James, affirming confidence in his ability to manage and innovate within LSST’s Careers and Employability domain. As LSST continues to prioritise student success and career advancement, James’s expertise and leadership will undoubtedly play a pivotal role in shaping the LSST’s future trajectory.
