“Our priority is simple: connect student learning to livelihoods,” said Mr Ali Jafar Zaidi, CEO of LSST. “Our expertly organised career fairs invited recruiters with outstanding live vacancies, students arrived fully prepared, and dozens left with guaranteed interviews. That positive alignment is the essence of LSST’s career fair goals.”

Pathways to Employment

LSST students benefited from CV clinics, mock interviews and career drop-in sessions organised by Alessandro Rizzo, LSST’s Regional Careers and Employability Officer, who said: “Our flagship career fairs have opened up 1000s of local jobs and have returned with enormous potential, attracting hundreds of LSST students and alumni who had the opportunity to meet a host of impressive employers and prepare for the world of work.”

“This was careers provision in its most potent form – sector focus, employer readiness and immediate feedback,” said Eniana Gobuzi, Associate Dean at LSST Elephant & Castle. “Opportunity is born of connection. Our careers fairs are that conjunction.”

Student Success Stories

For LSST students, the impact was tangible.

“The LSST career fairs have something for everybody. I spoke with CIS Security and other employers and left with two interviews booked. I now have a clear plan and confidence,” said LSST alumnus Sukhbinder Singh, a Health & Social Science 2025 graduate at LSST Elephant and Castle.

“Before the careers fair, I didn’t know where to start; now I have promising interviews lined up and a clearer sense of direction,” said Fatima Pereira, a Business Management student at LSST Elephant and Castle.

“Supporting both career fairs was an incredible experience – from preparing the venue and welcoming employers to capturing photos and coordinating with LSST’s Press Office,” said Adriana Sanchez, LSST Student Ambassador and Business Management student at LSST Elephant and Castle.

Employers Praise LSST Students

Employers were equally impressed by the calibre of LSST candidates.

“We’ve attended many careers fairs, but LSST students stand out for their professionalism and enthusiasm,” said Sunita Nahar, Founder and Director of Placing People Direct. “It’s always a pleasure to recruit from LSST – we’ve placed over 20 LSST applicants into permanent social and education roles this year alone.”

Speaking at the health careers fair, Jelena Lecic, Employer Adviser at DWP, said, “It’s rewarding to speak about Civil Service Fast Stream pathways to so many engaged LSST students. We saw genuine curiosity and readiness for public service roles – several LSST graduates registered for fast-track assessments on the day.”

Bridging Education and Employment

The career fairs mark a milestone in LSST’s ongoing Careers & Employability strategy – a year-round programme providing students with access to employer events, career guidance and graduate progression support. Coordinated by Alessandro Rizzo, Regional Careers and Employability Officer, the initiative ensures that every LSST student leaves with not only a degree but a defined pathway to employment.

“Our fairs showcase exactly what makes LSST exceptional,” added Alessandro Rizzo. “Our students don’t just attend; they engage, connect and secure real outcomes. Each handshake here has the potential to become a career.”

The success of the Elephant & Castle fairs reinforces LSST’s commitment to strengthening employer partnerships and ensuring that every student benefits from practical and purposeful engagement with industry.

As LSST continues to expand its network of employer collaborations across its London, Luton and Birmingham campuses, the message remains clear: education must lead directly to employability.
