After facing the unimaginable loss of his 13-year-old son due to cancer, Constantin Ungureanu, a BA (Hons) Business Management student and former winner of LSST’s Dragons’ Den at LSST Luton, transformed his heartbreak into healing. His debut book, Wake Up: Unlock Your Spiritual Power & Manifest Your Dream Life, charts a journey from grief to growth — blending psychology and purpose into a powerful guide for self-renewal.

When Constantin began writing, it was not with ambition, but with survival. “In 2024, I faced the darkest period of my life — the loss of my son to cancer. In that silence, I found a voice that refused to fade. Writing became both remembrance and rebirth,” he shared.

What began as private journaling evolved, over eight months, into a structured manuscript — a practical and deeply personal exploration of how pain can become a pathway to empowerment.

His published work, Wake Up, weaves rituals, mindset shifts and healing with grounded guidance to help readers rediscover balance.

“The most important lesson I learned while writing this book is that personal grief can be transformed into purposeful impact when you pair vulnerability with disciplined craft,” said Constantin. “Identify a clear framework, seek mentorship and translate your journey into practices others can adopt to create meaningful change.”

LSST Academic Insight

Constantin credits LSST for cultivating both the intellectual structure and emotional resilience that shaped his work. “Studying Business Management at LSST didn’t just teach me leadership,” he explained. “It taught me how to translate vision into disciplined, meaningful action.”

“Access to LSST’s academic and writing resources made the book credible,” Constantin said. “My lecturers and peers gave me the confidence and clarity to turn reflection into something that could help others.”

For Constantin, the true breakthrough came when he realised his story was not only about loss but about light. “The challenge was writing about heartbreak without being consumed by it,” he said. “The turning point came when I stopped trying to escape grief and instead invited it to teach me.”

That insight led to a clear and actionable framework — combining daily rituals, mindset practices and exercises designed to help readers apply spiritual principles in practical daily ways.

Leadership Reflections

Mr Ali Jafar Zaidi, LSST’s CEO, praised Constantin’s courage and contribution: “Constantin’s story is a moving reminder that education at LSST is not confined to the classroom. His work channels his experience into impact and we are all proud to see him transform loss into a universal guidance for others.”

Constantin hopes his journey will encourage other LSST students and staff to explore their voices through writing. “Don’t underestimate your story,” he advised. “Every challenge holds a lesson that can inspire others. Align your work with what you’ve learned here, seek guidance, and write with authenticity. Someone, somewhere, is waiting for your words.”

He encourages aspiring authors to engage with LSST’s network of academic mentors, research workshops, and communications teams to refine and promote their work. “LSST gave me the foundation to turn emotion into evidence and purpose into practice,” he said.

“Wake Up” — A Manifesto for Mindful Living

At its core, Wake Up is more than a memoir — it is a manifesto for mindful living. It invites readers to embrace vulnerability as a strength, to transform pain into growth, and to live with greater intention and compassion.

“Don’t wait for a crisis to ignite change,” Constantin reflected. “Wake up now — the life you dream of is already within you.”
