More than 150 students took part in a careers fair at LSST Luton (12 October 2026), meeting representatives from Utility Warehouse, NHS Bedfordshire Work Experience and Volunteering and NHS Blood and Transplant to explore career paths and promising routes into professional life.

The fair formed part of a week of careers events across LSST campuses in Luton, Birmingham, Wembley and Elephant & Castle, bringing campus students into direct contact with employers on campus and helping them connect their studies with the world of work.

For Abigail Spence, Careers & Employability Officer at LSST Luton, who coordinated the event, student engagement was a particular highlight.

“Our students were genuinely engaged, asking professional questions and making the most of the opportunity to speak directly with organisations. Those conversations can help our students discover opportunities they may not have considered before whether that means exploring a career or gaining work experience to develop their skills,” said Abigail.

The interest continued after the fair, with a noticeable increase in students contacting LSST’s Careers and Employability Service for further guidance. This follow-up highlights the value of connecting students with ongoing careers support beyond a single event.

Charlie Tennant, Vice Principal at LSST, said: “Education should equip students with more than knowledge. It should develop their ability to contribute positively to the workplace. Meeting employers on campus helps our students understand how their learning applies beyond the classroom and make informed choices about their future.”

Aqeel Syed, Dean at LSST Luton, added: “We want our students to recognise the range of paths open to them and feel confident about taking their next steps. Engaging directly with organisations allows them to ask open questions and understand how their studies at LSST Luton can help prepare them for working life.”
