LSST Students Celebrate De Montfort University Graduation in Leicester

Business and Health students across LSST’s campuses have officially crossed the graduation stage, celebrating an exceptional wave of academic success through the institution’s partnership with De Montfort University (DMU). Gathering in Leicester at the iconic Curve Theatre, graduates received their degrees surrounded by family, friends and academic mentors – turning years of dedication, late-night study and relentless ambition into degree qualifications and life-changing graduate outcomes.
Reflections on Graduate Success
Mr Ali Jafar Zaidi, CEO of LSST, praised the graduating classes for their dedication:
“Seeing our DMU-validated cohort cross the stage is a profound moment for everyone at LSST. Graduation represents the ultimate culmination of courage and commitment. It reflects not only our students’ academic rigour but their vision for the future. We take immense pride in standing alongside them as they step into exciting new chapters filled with potential.”
Professor Katie Normington, Vice-Chancellor of De Montfort University, said: “To see students graduate is always a privilege, and this cohort’s achievement stands out for the dedication it took to get here. Congratulations to each and every one of you – this moment belongs to you, and I hope it’s the first of many milestones still to come.”
Charlie Tennant, LSST’s Vice Principal, added: “This graduation stands as living proof of LSST’s mission to illuminate lives through inclusive and exemplary higher education. Our graduates leave not just with degree qualifications but equipped with the critical thinking and leadership skills required to innovate and lead in modern industry.”
Empowering Learners
Dr Wendy Wigley, Head of Student Lifecycle and Partnership
Manager at LSST, highlighted the transformative nature of student journeys:
“True higher education partnerships are measured by the lives they transform and the journeys they sustain. From their very first day through to crossing the graduation stage, watching our cohorts evolve into high-achieving and confident professionals has been extraordinary.”
Syed Rizvi, Dean of Learning and Teaching and Academic Dean of LSST Elephant & Castle and LSST Stratford, reflected on teaching excellence: “Great teaching does not simply deliver a curriculum – it builds confidence and sparks curiosity. Watching our students develop from their initial foundation studies into scholars capable of producing top-tier academic work has been extraordinarily rewarding. Their success is a testament to what can be achieved when innovative learning and teaching strategies are centred around student success.”
Aasfieq Moosa, LSST’s Student Union President, spoke on behalf of the student body: “I am immensely proud to represent a student community so full of ambition, heart, and determination. Watching our peers reach this landmark milestone – and securing such outstanding academic results – is deeply inspiring for all of us. The future is brighter because of what our new graduates bring to it.”
Dr Muhammad Haque, Senior Lecturer at LSST Wembley, who attended the ceremony, said: “Witnessing our students graduate was an immensely proud moment. Having supported many of them from their early undergraduate days through to completion, I have watched them develop into confident and independent thinkers. Their success belongs entirely to them – they put in the work, overcame every challenge and earned their degrees.”
