LSST Wembley Job Fair Shapes Futures of Aspiring LSST Professionals

LSST Wembley hosted a rewarding and impactful on-campus Job Fair (19 November 2024) drawing over 250 eager and skilled LSST students wishing to connect with a diverse range of prospective employers.  

  

“Our LSST Wembley on-campus jobs fair was more than a showcase of job opportunities — it was a celebration of the vital role our job fairs play in shaping the futures of LSST’s outstanding and aspiring professionals,” said Mr Ali Jafar Zaidi, LSST’s Deputy CEO.

With representation from 11 prominent organisations BT, International SOS, Grow London, SIG, Brighter Futures, SWIFT Childcare, Supply Register, Enterprise, Guasa Group, Grant Thornton and Nurture Education the event provided LSST’s students with unparalleled access to employers spanning industries such as technology, education, finance and social care.

“Each company brought a wealth of opportunities that underscored LSST’s commitment to empowering our students as they seek diverse and ambitious career pathways,” remarked Charlie Tennant, LSST’s Vice Principal. “By connecting students directly with industry leaders on-campus, we aim to cultivate meaningful collaborations that guide and equip them with the tools needed to excel in their chosen fields.” 

  

James Platt, LSST’s Careers and Employability Manager, emphasised: “LSST Wembley’s finale to our 2024 jobs fair season was a testament to our dedication to student career success. With over 250 attendees and a remarkable array of employers, we’re ensuring that our students have the tools, connections and opportunities to thrive. This is just the beginning and we look forward to even more ambitious fairs in 2025.”

LSST’s job fair initiatives emphasise the importance of integrating career development within academic settings. While classroom learning equips LSST’s students with knowledge, career events enhance their practical readiness, ensuring LSST graduates are not just degree-holders but workforce-ready professionals.

From BT’s innovative tech roles to the nurturing positions offered by Brighter Futures and Nurture Education, every organisation reflected LSST’s career priority: ensuring students are empowered to pursue diverse and meaningful career pathways.

For LSST students, our on-campus fairs are an opportunity to connect directly with employers, receive tailored career advice – and to understand the skills and attributes in demand across various sectors. In turn, for employers, the fairs offer a chance to tap into LSST’s talented pool of students, many of whom are equipped with unique experiences, adaptability and career-drive.   

 

As the 2024 jobs fair season concludes, LSST Career and Employability team continues to set a high standard for career development initiatives in higher education. Each event reinforces LSST’s commitment to holistic student success that, in turn, creates not only academic excellence but also employability.
