Article Date | 2 December, 2024By James Platt, Careers Manager for LSST
Aspiring professionals from our Skills Bootcamp enjoyed an inspiring visit to Howden Insurance in central London yesterday, marking a pivotal moment in their career development journey as they get closer to finishing the course.
The visit consisted of an interactive workshop focused on effective communication and crafting impactful elevator pitches. Delivered by the early careers team at Howden, the session aimed to help learners refine their ability to present themselves confidently and succinctly in professional settings. Participants explored strategies for conveying their unique value and received tailored feedback to hone their delivery.
After the workshop, learners were treated to an exclusive tour of Howden’s central London office. From workspaces to state-of-the-art facilities, the learners got a first hand look at the modern insurance industry’s inner workings. A particular highlight was the visit to the office’s stunning roof terrace, offering breath-taking views of the city skyline.
This visit was more than just a field trip – it was an opportunity for learners to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application. It showcased the importance of communication in building professional relationships and underscored the significance of personal branding in the workplace.
Our Professional Services Skills Bootcamp continues to focus on equipping learners with the tools they need to thrive in their chosen careers, and partnerships with industry leaders like Howden Insurance provide invaluable real-world insights.
